Summer Body Treatments

Now that Sydney is back out and about, you’re probably (if you’re anything like the majority of our clients!) conscious of getting back on top of healthy eating and lifestyle habits, since most of us let these things slip during months of lockdown. If you’re looking for a helping hand to shift those few stubborn pockets of fat, we may have just the thing for you.

Did you know there is a non-invasive way to tackle these stubborn pockets of fat that achieves virtually painless, permanent fat loss? It’s called TruSculpt ID, and is already fast becoming our most popular treatment ahead of summer.

TruSculpt ID utilises radiofrequency energy that delivers heat into the tissue, which damages the outer membranes of fat cells causing them to either release their contents, and/or collapse altogether - and in this case are then removed from the body naturally by our lymphatic system. While it won’t completely destroy all fat cells in the treatment area, and cannot be used to achieve overall weight loss, it can achieve exceptional, noticeable results to localised fat pockets. The treatment is particularly suited to those areas that are notoriously difficult to target with even the most stringent exercise regimes, such as that ‘pouch’ below the belly button, love handles, back/bra fat, and almost any other major area of the body like arms, glutes, thighs, and abdomen.

Radiofrequency energy also has another amazing benefit. The heat we generate in the tissue, at temperatures high enough to affect fat cell membranes, also has an effect on collagen. This heat causes our collagen proteins to contract, and when this occurs, it stimulates the production of new collagen. This is why radiofrequency has a dual skin tightening effect, as well as improving the overall quality of the tissue in the treatment zone.

How does this differ from fat freezing?

Instead of applying heat to destroy fat cells, treatments like fat freezing apply very cold temperatures in order to destroy fat cell membranes. While this can be very effective, it can also be very painful. When the fat cells are cooled, they are literally ‘frozen solid’, and patients need to massage the area in order to reform its natural shape. Cold temperatures also have no therapeutic effect like heat does, which means no added benefits like collagen stimulation and skin tightening. Fat freezing also carries additional risks that radiofrequency fat melting does not. You may have seen the recent celebrity case of Supermodel Linda Evangelista, who reportedly experienced paradoxical adipose hyperplasia after her fat freezing treatment. This is a rare side effect that results in malformation of fat cells that were not completely destroyed in the freezing process, and the treated tissue presents as hard, lumpy and enlarged. In contrast, this is not the case for TruSculpt, and the treatment carries very little risks.

What about skin tightening?

Targeting your fat cells isn’t the only way to lift and sculpt your curves ahead of summer. We are incredibly excited to have just introduced the Venus Versa to Lisa Rush Skin Clinic, a multi-treatment energy-based device capable of a number of treatments for the face and body. Its body treatment is called Octipolar Skin Tightening, and it’s an ideal treatment to go hand in hand with your TruSculpt lipolisis (fat cell destruction) treatment. The same can be said for our sculpting and tightening Ultraformer treatment, which can be utilised on a number of areas and is incredibly popular for the face, neck, and that stubborn fat pocket below the chin.

This multi-functional treatment utilises Radiofrequency to stimulate an increase in collagen production, which naturally plumps, tightens, lifts and firms the tissue, diminishing the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the face, and lifting & sculpting areas of the body. It also incorporates PEMF (electromagnetic energy) to enhance absorption of products into the skin, stimulate cellular mitochondria to produce ATP (our body’s energy source), reduce inflammation, and improve our natural healing abilities.

Perfect for:

  • Diminishing the appearance of cellulite
  • Tightening the skin through encouraging collagen production
  • Improve circulation giving a natural glow and improving skin quality
  • Lymphatic drainage for toxin removal and addressing fluid retention

Radiofrequency energy causes a thermal reaction in the tissue, causing the skin to produce more collagen. This heating effect can also soothe sore muscles, and PEMF energy is also wonderful for reducing redness and inflammation. This combination of energies can therefore aid in muscular soreness and enhanced tissue healing - perfect for athletes or after an intense workout! It can also assist in lessening the appearance of cellulite, improving circulation, and draining fluid retention.
