Introducing Skinbetter Science to Lisa Rush Skin Clinic

Every brand we introduce is chosen with one question in mind: does it genuinely serve our clients' skin? Skinbetter Science answered that question clearly. Here is why we chose it — and how it works alongside the Skinceuticals range many of our clients already use.

What Is Skinbetter Science?

Skinbetter Science is a physician-dispensed professional skincare brand founded in 2016 by experts with deep roots in pharmaceutical and aesthetic medicine. It is exclusively available through authorised medical and nurse-led clinics — never pharmacies or general retail. In 2022, it was acquired by L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty, the same global division that houses Skinceuticals, reflecting a shared commitment to science-led, clinician-partnered skincare.

The brand's flagship technology, AlphaRet®, combines a retinoid and an alpha hydroxy acid (lactic acid) into a single patented molecule — designed to support skin renewal with a tolerability profile that traditional retinoids often lack. AlphaRet Overnight Cream has been recognised as a 33-time award winner since its 2016 launch.

Why It Works Alongside Skinceuticals

These two brands complement rather than duplicate each other. Skinceuticals CE Ferulic® remains our go-to for environmental antioxidant protection, formulated around decades of vitamin C research. Skinbetter Science fills three important gaps:

  • Retinoid support at night — AlphaRet® Overnight Cream adds nightly skin renewal to a complete anti-ageing routine, a category Skinceuticals does not cover
  • Broader antioxidant defence — Alto Advanced Defence and Repair Serum's 19-ingredient complex is designed to address intrinsic oxidative stress alongside environmental protection
  • Skin tone support — Even Intensive Skin Tone Correcting Serum offers a hydroquinone-free approach to the appearance of uneven tone, complementing Skinceuticals P-TIOX for a multi-pathway approach to pigmentation concerns
Both brands now sit within L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty — united by the same philosophy: clinical rigour, professional partnership, and science that is substantiated, not just marketed.

Is It Right for Your Routine?

Whether you are already using Skinceuticals and want to add a retinoid, have found traditional retinoids difficult to tolerate, or are looking for a more streamlined professional skincare approach — we can now consider Skinbetter Science as part of your personalised skin prescription. Every recommendation follows a thorough consultation with our team.
